Egypt sealed their passage to the last 16 of the Africa Cup of Nations thanks to a straightforward 2-0 win over the Democratic Republic of Congo, as Mohamed Salah got off the mark in the competition. Although DR Congo had their moments and certainly threatened the tournament hosts, Javier Aguirre's side were well worth the win that sends them through and leaves the Congolese in danger of an early exit.

Buffon is a free agent after leaving Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain following one season in the French capital. The 41-year-old swapped Juventus for PSG in 2018-19 but Buffon could be set for a return to the Serie A champions, where he won the Scudetto nine times.

GRIEZMANN’S MIND MADE UP BY MESSI

Antoine Griezmann wants to move to Barcelona to realise his dream of playing alongside his hero Lionel Messi, according to the Daily Star. It’s understood Griezmann has already been in touch with Messi to discuss how they will play with each other next season at the Camp Nou. The lure of Messi was so great that Griezmann rejected the advances of Manchester United, who reportedly made a last-ditch attempt to hijack his move from Atletico Madrid.

PSG SET TO SELL NEYMAR

PSG are ready to let Neymar go this summer, according to L’Equipe PSG President Nasser Al Khelaifi said on Sunday that the Ligue 1 champions will no longer tolerate superstar attitudes from the club’s biggest players after a 2018-19 campaign full of controversy. "Players will have to be more responsible than before,” Al-Khelaïfi told  France Football. "They will have to do more and work harder. They are not there for their own amusement. If they do not agree, the doors are open - Ciao! "I do not want star behaviour anymore." 

Sarri's move to Juventus from Chelsea on verge of completion

The manager split opinion during his time in London but will leave Stamford Bridge with a European title for his efforts Maurizio Sarri is expected to be announced as Juventus ' new head coach after Chelsea reached an agreement with the Italian champions over a compensation fee to release the 60-year-old from his duties at Stamford Bridge. Bianconeri official Fabio Paratici has spent the last few days in London speaking with Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia – owner Roman Abramovich's right hand and famously shrewd negotiator – concerning a deal for the Europa League -winning manager. Sources familiar with the talks have confirmed that an agreement has now been reached and only the finer details remain.

Hazard arrives in Madrid, passes his medical

Eden Hazard has landed in Madrid. The Belgian international landed in the Spanish capital on Thursday morning and has passed his medical exams with success at the  Clínica Sanitas de La Moraleja to the north of the city. Once he has signed his new contract with Real Madrid, which will keep him at the club for the next five years, he will be presented at the Bernabéu at 19:00

Romelu Lukaku has seemingly all but confirmed he is leaving Man United for Inter Milan the summer by lavishing praise on their new boss Antonio Conte.

Having seriously under-performed both at home and in Europe during the 2018-19 season, Madrid president Florentino Perez is sparing no expense to ensure the coming campaign will mark an improvement. Luka Jovic and Eden Hazard are already confirmed arrivals, from Eintracht Frankfurt and Chelsea respectively, while Santos wonderkid Rodrygo is also expected to complete his move to the Bernabeu over the summer. The club also added defender Eder Militao from Porto as Real Madrid have rebuilt the squad in a big way this summer.
