The Ballon d'Or has been cancelled for the first time in the award's history due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the football calendar.

The highly-rated forward, who had spent four seasons at the Etihad Stadium, has signed a five-year contract with the Bundesliga champions Leroy Sane has completed a move to  Bayern Munich  from  Manchester City  for an initial €49m (£44.7m/$55m), with that amount potentially rising to €60 million (£55m/$67m) through add-ons. Manchester United announced the extension of Soon Ighalo's loan from 31 May 2020 to 31 January 2021. Manchester United have reached an agreement with Shanghai Shenhua to extend the transfer of Odion Ighalo from 31 May 2020 to 31 January 2021. Although the Nigerian striker had a contract with the English until the end of May, he will be able to stay at Old Trafford until early next year, after extending the loan agreed with the English at the start of the season. Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli was robbed at knifepoint after burglars broke into the north London home he was at in the early hours of Wednesday morning. There were understood to be five people in the house - including the 24-year-old England international - at the time of the robbery, with Alli's brother, their girlfriends and another friend also present. Police confirmed that two of the male residents were assaulted during the incidents, with reports claiming Alli was one of those attacked.

The governing body boss has explained why the 39-year-old was brought into the coaching set-up President of the  Nigeria  Football Federation (NFF) Amaju Pinnick has stated the body is preparing Joseph Yobo as a future Super Eagles manager. The federation appointed the former  Everton centre-back as second assistant to Gernot Rohr in February, replacing Imama Amapakabo. Football teams will be allowed to use five substitutes when play resumes after the coronavirus pandemic, the sport’s law-making body announced on Friday. The International Football Association Board  said in a statement that it had agreed to a proposal by world governing body FIFA for a temporary change to the rules “to protect player welfare”. Teams face likely fixture congestion in a packed calendar as they attempt to make up for lost time when play can resume.

Germany’s Bundesliga could resume from May 9, regional leaders of the country’s biggest states said on Monday, although games can only take place without spectators to prevent coronavirus contagion. Markus Soeder, state premier of Bavaria which hosts champions Bayern Munich, said it remains “completely unimaginable to have spectators” in the stadiums given the need for social distancing to slow the virus spread. But “we could perhaps from May 9 play such a round of ‘ghost games’,” Soeder told Bild, using the German term “Geisterspiele” for matches played in empty stadiums. “A weekend with football is much more bearable than a weekend without football,” he added. Likewise, Armin Laschet, premier of North Rhine-Westphalia state which is home to Borussia Dortmund, said Germany’s top-flight could resume “on condition that there is a thoroughly thought-out concept”.

The forward is due to complete his €31m move to Barcelona in July and Braga's president expects big things from the attacker. Barcelona have secured the signature of Francisco Trincao and Braga president Antonio Salvador believes the attacker will be one of the world's best in 10 years. With Chelsea looking to strengthen their squad in the summer, the Blues may need to sell some players to raise funds for Frank Lampard's transfer target. The Chelsea squad are still training behind closed doors as they wait for news on when the Premier League season can resume. To support his hometown during the pandemic, Salah sent thousands of tons of food and fresh meat while offering advice on how to stop spreading the coronavirus. Salah has been known for making big donations, as he had previously donated  $3 million to the National Cancer Institute following a terrorist attack last summer.

It is for these reasons that many players dream of playing for  Los Blancos  at some point in their careers, and representing the club is often regarded as the pinnacle for any professional.

It looks pretty certain that Chelsea boss Frank Lampard will be looking to sign a new striker in the summer. He has repeatedly spoken in public about adding attacking reinforcements to his squad, and was disappointed that a new striker was not added in January after a number of failed pursuits. Current options Olivier Giroud is out of contract in June, and Michy Batshuayi has failed to step up. The burden has been left with Tammy Abraham, now Lampard wants to add some top quality competition for the clubs leading goalscorer. According to  SPORT , Lampard has asked the Chelsea board to sign Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic on loan next season. The 22-year old has struggled to hit the ground running since making his big money move to La Liga, and this kind of deal could be something that suits all parties. I am sure we will be hearing more on this pursuit over the coming months.
